End the 24 hour drinking cycle

Finding a friendliness towards life, first requires one towards yourself.
Seeing life with less judgement.
You can never fully awaken from the distortion of alcohol without self reflection.
What does belonging really mean to me?
Why does this moment feel unsatisfying?
What is my heart felt intention for doing this?
What is true freedom and peace?

You know the daily mellow dramas and the fake news aren't satisfying either.
You are here to awaken to a life of being fully human, to move through growing pains for peaceful possibilities.
Alcohol may have once had the merit of protecting you from the discomfort of emotion,
but now is the time to embrace your humaness with out grasping and attachment.

I find myself holding on to conditioning of what I "thought" certain relationship or things were "suppose" to look like, only to find myself in a tail spin of mental dramas.
I know this is my ego creating problems where there are none.
I no longer have a desire for alcohol,
but I do still experience dissatisfaction.
Wanting things to be different than they are.
In those moments I remember, oh, this is why people drink.

Then I ask, what was my intention?
What was I hoping to gain?
Who would I be if I simply chose unconditional love?

So much of our time is wasted longing for things we don't really want.
We just like the WANTING part VS. the HAVING.
In the end, you simply have to become PRESENT.
Take a step back to witness in this moment, time and space here and now.
The only moment you have, what has gone wrong?

Usually, nothing.
I find satisfaction now in quieting that voice that tries to make trouble.
Sabotaging a perfectly good time.
It is the same voice that use to say, a drink sounds good.

Now when I hear her objecting and creating problems, I say:
I hear you
I see you
I know you
I love you

Thank you for reminding me of the power of choice and living from the heart.
We need refuge, but the bottle is a hole that becomes harder to get out of, no matter how much you drink.

The heart space litterally is the seat of the soul.
The home of your highest self.
The portal to connect to source.

When you live in the habit of alcohol, you live in survival mode.
In fight or flight.
Alcohol impairs the central nervous system and inhibits memory and learning.
So all of the emotions you experience in real time, can't be released, only attached to.

Practice the above mantra today when 5 o'clock (or an urge) hits and you told yourself you weren't drinking today.
Focus on the heart space and let the words resonate there.
Repeat for 3 minutes.

I hear you
I see you
I know you
I love you,

Mary
