Rock Bottom Moment Not Required: A New Perspective on Transformation
Rock Bottom Moment Not Required: A New Perspective on Transformation
When someone recently asked me if I had a "rock bottom moment" that led to where I am now, the question caught me off guard. I stumbled over my response, unsure of how to fully explain my journey in that moment. But the question stayed with me. It made me realize something powerful: No, I didn’t have a rock bottom moment. What I had was an ascension moment.
Choosing a Different Path
Did I have moments I wasn’t proud of? Absolutely. But the real turning point for me wasn’t a moment of despair—it was a moment of choice. I decided to start living my life in a new way, connecting with new people, and immersing myself in new places. This shift began with my spirituality. I embarked on a journey of studying the feminine mysteries, exploring the phases of the moon, charting my own cycles, and connecting with teachers who awakened me to the buried power of the feminine archetype.
This wasn’t just about learning; it was a profound moment of connection and ascension. I discovered a missing piece of my spirituality and life that had been absent all along. The contrast between this newfound empowerment and the life I had been living became so stark that drinking—even in small moments—began to feel like its own version of rock bottom.
A Commitment to Change
This shift wasn’t accidental. It came from a deep willingness to center change around myself and the life I truly wanted. It wasn’t about deprivation or struggle—it was about alignment. I began creating systems for myself, including the five shifts I now teach to clients. These shifts became the foundation for my journey and continue to guide others through my course and podcast.
What made sobriety feel natural was a significant shift in awareness. I realized I had a choice, and something better was available. Reflecting on it now, I see how this journey was fueled by a vision of where I wanted to go, even though I didn’t have all the details. I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, to teach women, and to expand my work in yoga, mindfulness, and mindset. That vision drove me forward.
Finding What Resonates
If you’re reading this, there’s likely something in my words that resonates with you. That connection is the spark. It’s the same spark I felt when I started showing up for new experiences in my life. Whether it’s a yoga class, a book club, or a gym session, the more you immerse yourself in spaces that feel aligned with your values, the more you’ll naturally move away from the things that no longer serve you.
This isn’t about perfection or instant transformation. It’s about showing up in integrity with what feels right for you. For me, that commitment to the feminine mysteries and my spiritual devotion became a guiding force I couldn’t turn away from. It continues to shape my life and lead every conversation I have.
You Don’t Need a Rock Bottom
The beauty of transformation is that you don’t need to hit rock bottom to start. You just need a moment of willingness to choose differently. Keep seeking what resonates with you. Keep searching for the connections, practices, and communities that light something up inside of you. These are the building blocks of a life that feels aligned and empowered. And when you follow that path, the shift feels not just possible but inevitable.
