Beautiful solutions and better parties
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
― Richard Buckminster Fuller
In my words, You Throw A Better Party!
Mr. Fuller also goes on to say, if the solution to a problem isn't beautiful, I know something is wrong.
Wow!
Yes, please.
The reason alcohol is still a problem, is because your solution isn't beautiful.
It looks like suffering, deprivation and shame.
Changing your mind, your likes and preferences, is part of growing and evolving.
You can change your mind and decide this is no longer for me, from a place of possibility and reshaping your identity.
You don't have to be miserable to quit drinking.
In fact, it couldn't be further from the truth.
When you decide to quit out of fear, shame and lack,
like there's a problem that needs to be fixed, usually you,
you hold on to the hopes that maybe, someday, alcohol will be okay again.
NO.
You decide to stop drinking because it's not necessary.
Because you don't need it to make your life better.
You're awesome and it's getting in the way of connecting further with your greatness.
The way youidentifywith alcohol is what's in the way of making the solution beautiful.
Don't take my word for it.
You HAVE to test it.
From a place of pride and excitement.
From a place of deep compassion and desire to live life to the fullest.
Form the thought:NOTHING HAS GONE WONG.
My stressful day isn't a problem, my kid screaming isn't a problem,
my daddy issues aren't a problem,
and NOT drinking ISN'T a problem.
It's a beautiful solution to get me in alignment with my true desires.
When I gave myself permission to change my mind about alcohol,
I had to let go of theIDENTITYthat was making it a problem.
In turn, I removed the resistance to the life IREALLYwanted.
Not a daily vacation, but to be a powerful creator.
To be the authority in my own life.
To decide on purpose.
To change my mind.
To see the possibility inside of a once narrow framework.
To question the cultural narrative that says, this is how you do it.
When I gave my self permission to let this change be beautiful (messy and uncomfortable) and awaken more of me,
NOT drinking became the obvious choice.
It was no longer part of the narrative I was writing for myself.
I have proven again and again that thecomfortof the BOX does not equal happiness.
In fact, it creates claustrophobia for the soul to breathe and express itself.
To beautiful solutions,
Mary
P.S: In 1:1 coaching we practice making decisions from the RESULTS you want, not from the objections of why you can't.
Every objection is just a thought.
